Microneedling
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a technique used to gently break the surface layer of the skin with the use of a derma pen, in order to encourage the production of elastin and collagen in the skin.
After the age of 25, the process of producing collagen and elastin regeneratively is halted naturally by the body and is only started again during the repair process. Thus, microneedling is an effective way to induce this process.
Once the epidermis (the top layer of the skin) has been penetrated, the patient will turn red, a sign that the repair process is underway. in this instance, the redder the better! As a result of the skin being penetrated, the absorption of the products applied to the skin as part of the treatment are up to 300% more than just applying product without the derma pen.
Microneedling is very effective treatment for the following: acne scarring, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, skin blemishes, skin aging, dull skin and hyperpigmentation. It is also a very effective tool in promoting hair rejuvenation.
We recommend a course of 6 sessions, with 1 session a month. Improvements are visible after 2-3 sessions.
